There is no doubt Aussies are in popularity nowadays due to their cuteness, intelligence and companionship. My first advice is to SHOP Breeder 1st!!! You essentially will have a professional (hopefully) relationship with this person for the next 14 to 15 years. Ask yourself, is this person someone you can deal with for that long? Does this person have the same values as you do? Is this person ethical and professional? Is this person a puppy mill who's only concern is the dollar and NOT being a preservationist breeder?
Nor is it a good idea to allow your children the control of choosing the new puppy you're going to purchase for your entire family. As it's a common phrase we dog owners use, "you're the alpha dog, not your puppy." Same goes for your children. You're the parent not the other way around. I get it, give them some say to your children but you as the parent knows what's best! Teach them, do research as it will help them be a wiser dog buyer and owner!
Are you seeking a hiking buddy, family companion? Or are you looking to get your child to become a Jr. Handler to show in the conformation arena because you want them to have this experience? Or you may be looking for a therapy dog or an obedience, Rally, Dock Diving Agility dog to compete with? The list is really endless. This is a versatile breed!
You may end up getting what you paid for! We invest in our lines, quality not quantity! Please beware of the "Fake" Breeders out their on the internet. If in doubt, head over to www.gooddog.com and or google their kennel name online to see if they have any reviews OR check with the American Kennel Club (AKC) for a list of breeders there as well. Buyers get ripped off all the time! We are on all of these platforms. Google Aspen Hills Australian Shepherds to take a look at our reviews. There are a couple of bogus reviews on there from another exhibitor who simply is being immature and mean so just ignore those. Unfortunately the world is not perfect.
You and your family's first request about the puppy you want is it's sex and color right? You want a red merle female with blue eyes or a blue merle female with blue eyes. Be really careful here, you may end up getting what you asked for! What about giving thought to the temperament, disposition, energy level or maybe even the history of it's parents? Genetic clearances, vaccinations, recommended shot schedules, eye clearances hip and or elbow dysplasia clearance's? The list goes on!
We welcome you to your new family pack! We will always be as supportive to you and your puppy as we can for the rest of its life. We want you to be happy with your new puppy. We do ALL of the genetic testing and ALL of the general health clearances of our breeding stock to focus on providing our clients quality Australian Shepherds. All the health clearances are listed within our website. Please feel free to browse around and learn. We will always send our puppy buyers home with a health wellness clearance check by our Veterinarian Dr. Shawn with Redmond Veterinary Clinic and cleared eye exams through an opthomologist as well for your records.
Best way to contact me is through our private Facebook Group (after your puppy application has been approved or text me 541-350-6246 anytime! I do not prefer email as I don't rely on them coming through.
